Please help, looking for color pictures of these patches,
401st BG, 612th, 613rd, 614th and 615th. Also when they were approved by the Army Air Force/ USAF>

They are a little faint on three of the four, but check out web-birds.com

The book 'Combat Squadrons of the Air Forces, World War II', edited by Maurer Maurer, USAF Historical Division, Air University, Department of the Air Force, 1969 [U.S. Government Printing Office] pp.684-686, detail the squadron emblems and approvals (for the 612, 163, 614 and 615.
I have used library copies for my reference work. I don't know if new copies are available for sale, but some used military book stores may know (or have copies).
