I have been doing some research for a friend whose husband was on the "Carolina Queen" when it went down on 11 January 1944 on a mission to Oscherslaben. Is there a specific report I should ask NARA for, or another source, that would give the precise location of the crash site? Thanks for the help.

Ken, If the plane crashed in Germany, the Luftwaffe "KU" report should i d the site. This report is sometimes avail as an attachment to the MACR report generated by the Army Air Force.

42-37809 MACR 2506 IY-G 615th Carolina Queen 1st Lt. H.J. Chapman 26-Oct-1943.
Go to my site to see where to request IDPF (it's Free Takes a few months since family member you can request by e-mail send your home address with e-mail) and MACR request Maxwell AFB they will send you info also free.
