Yes this is true and 42-39825 Zenobia El Elephante piloted by qst Lt. W.B. Keith. Under history check missions and it will be mission number 3 which has the details of this event.

I was the Pilot of aircraft # 6508 Maiden USA B-17.I will be in Corby July 7 8 9 With the 401st Reunion I will be glad to talk to you about the 401st and WWll Norman

hi Norman, that'll be great. I just want 2 get 2 know what it was really like and how deenethorpe was back in the war. i always go up to the airfield when i get chance was it always windy whatever the weather?
