looking for info about my uncle s/sgt carrol ben tallant from arkansas. i was told he was a tail gunner on the jub jub bird (4231883). any info will be greatly appreciated. i was told he was kia bombing a ball bearing plant over liepzig germany.

Unable to find listing on b.carrol tallant. also nothing on "jub jub bird" Also nothing on Aircraft with serial no. 42-312883 being in our group. Are you certsin of tallant bring in 401st bomb group Sation 128 at deenethorpe,england??-

Jub-Jub Bird (w/that serial #)was in the 91st Bomb Group, 401st Bomb Squadron - the group has a site at:http://www.91stbombgroup.com/ - you will probably be able to find more info there

I realize it has been quite sometime since you inquired, but just found this web site. According to the record I have,S/Sgt Carrol Talent was killed in action during a bombing raid on a Synthetic Oil Plant in Meeseburg, Germany on 04 Nov 1944.
My Father-in-law was also a crewmember on that Aircraft. Hope I have helped.
