Summary: This was an historic day for the 401st, as the Group flew two missions, and six crews flew two missions the same day! As usual, sighting the V-1 rocket sites in the haze proved difficult. However, the Group, bombing from 22,000 feet, reported that their bombs saturated the woods in which their target was situated. No enemy fighters were seen, but moderate flak was encountered en route and intense flak over the target.
